User Policy

Last Updated: September 2026 (version 2026-09)

The Terms of Service are the legal agreement between you and Strictly Moris. This policy explains what we expect in everyday words. If the two ever differ, the Terms apply. You agree to this policy when you create your account.

1. Who this is for

This policy is for everyone with a Strictly Moris account. If you browse as a guest, the Terms of Service still apply to you.

You agree to it when you create your account.

2. Be respectful to providers

The people you message are small businesses and tradespeople, usually answering their own phones.

  • Keep your messages polite, even when you are unhappy.
  • No harassment, threats, spam or discrimination of any kind.
  • Do not use Report to punish a provider you simply disagreed with — report what breaks the rules.
  • If someone bothers you, block them rather than retaliate.

3. Do your own due diligence

It is up to you to check a provider before you hire, visit or pay them.

  • Read the whole listing, including the hours, the price list and the photos.
  • Ask for proof of any licence, insurance or qualification that matters to your job.
  • Get a written quote, and agree the scope and the price before work starts.
  • Compare a few providers rather than taking the first one you find.

4. What Strictly Moris does and does not do

We list providers and check their listings for basic accuracy. We do not vet their work, their licences or their quality.

  • Approval of a listing is not an endorsement or a recommendation.
  • We do not guarantee that a provider will turn up, do the job, or do it well.
  • Anything you agree with a provider — the work, the price, the payment — is between you and them. Strictly Moris is not a party to it and is not responsible for what happens.
  • We take no payments and hold no money on your behalf.

The legal clauses that cover this are in the Terms of Service, sections 7, 12 and 19 to 22.

5. Your responsibilities

Keep your account details accurate, use one account, and keep your login to yourself.

Report honestly: a false report wastes the time we could spend on a real problem.

6. Tips for staying safe

Ordinary precautions, the ones you would take anywhere.

  • Ask for credentials before work starts, not after.
  • Get the quote in writing, with what is included.
  • For a first meeting, meet at the business or somewhere public.
  • Keep the conversation in the app, so there is a record if something goes wrong.
  • Pay on completion or against a receipt, and be careful with large deposits up front.
  • Report a problem in the app (the flag on a listing, or the chat menu) and block if you need to.

7. If something goes wrong

Speak to the provider first — most problems are a misunderstanding about what was agreed.

If that does not settle it, report the listing or the conversation in the app, or write to support@strictlymoris.mu. We can act on the listing and the account; we cannot settle a dispute or recover money for you.

For anything serious — fraud, threats, safety — contact the relevant authorities in Mauritius.

8. Questions and changes

Write to support@strictlymoris.mu with any question about this policy.

We may update it. The version at the top of this page changes when we do, and we will tell you in the app.
